Using a Pilates reformer machine Reformer Pilates is an intense and dynamic core strengthening exercise. Working the centre of the body using the thighs and glutes to improve flexibility and balance. Our classes are all performed by a Chartered Physiotherapist.
Reformer Pilates is a form of dynamic stabilisation retraining performed by a qualified physiotherapist. It reconditions the body from the centre/core of the body, not only increasing body strength, but also by improving the functioning of these muscles. It proves to be an excellent way of treating lower back pain and preventing relapse. By strengthening the muscles that support the entire frame of the body, it also helps other conditions such as neck pain, knee pain and poor posture. It is a body conditioning exercise programme that targets the deep postural muscles of the abdomen, scapular region and entire spine, improving overall core stability and posture.
Clinical Matt Pilates
Matt Pilates helps to strengthen and lengthen your muscles including your core, arms and legs. These classes are instructed by a Chartered Physiotherapist on a Pilates matt on the floor and can be easily modified for any age.
Live Online Pilates
Live Online sessions are suitable for patients who have completed a course of physiotherapy or any other manual treatment and require additional exercise and rehabilitation, as well as for those who are concerned about poor posture or core strength during time spent at home during lock down.
The classes are gentle, safe and challenging, where you can work at your own pace with a physio who has the knowledge to modify exercises according to your pain or problem.
The aim of Pilates is to prevent and treat a range of postural and musculoskeletal conditions by retraining the core stabilisers to support the joints during everyday activities.
