Womens and Men’s Health
Do you experience accidental leaking when sneezing or coughing?
Perhaps you find yourself waking up several times a night to use the toilet?
Or maybe you sometimes experience an unusually heavy feeling downstairs?
Do you sometimes experience pain while passing urine?
You are not alone, these symptoms are very common in women and men of all ages regardless if they have children or not. At A.L.O we are striving to raise awareness that despite how common these symptoms may be, they are not normal and help is available.
In fact, *41-50% of women over 40 are affected by pelvic organ prolapses, and about 2 in 10 men will have chronic prostatitis/pelvic pain at some point during their lives. Many of the affected men and women avoid seeking medical help, mostly due to embarrassment or simply because they are not aware that help is available. Just because a symptom is common, it does not mean that you have to suffer through it without help.
At A.L.O clinic we’ve made both Women’s and Men’s health our specialty because we want everyone to feel empowered and happy in their bodies. We understand that there’s no greater feeling than being incontrol of your body so you can enjoy life to the fullest, accident-free and pain-free. Although being in control can feel like a thing of the past if you’ve suffered for a long time, we want you to know that the physiological symptoms that you may experience are not your burden to deal with indefinitely. With the right help, we can get you back to where you used to be and we can help you reclaim control and get back to being you!
The national health guideline recommends physiotherapy as an effective conservative treatment for a wide variety of pelvic floor issues. However, we go the extra mile by working closely with gynaecologists and urologists to ensure a comprehensive approach to our treatment plan. Our passion for treating both women’s and men’s health conditions is deeply rooted in our founder, Andre De Oliveira’s own personal battle with a mens health condition. So we understand how having a condition of this nature can make you feel isolated from others, by stopping you from doing the things you love.
